Aromatic hydrocarbon solvent, usually a mixture of dimethylbenzene isomers, with high dissolving and degreasing power. It is used as a thinner for paints, varnishes and resins, in synthesis processes and as a clearing agent in laboratory histological techniques.

Aromatic phenolic compound (2-methoxyphenol) that presents as an oily liquid with a characteristic odor. It is used as a raw material in pharmaceutical and veterinary preparations, particularly in formulations associated with the respiratory tract, and as an intermediate in the synthesis of other aromatic compounds.
