Fat-soluble antioxidant used in premixes for animal nutrition and as a stabilizer of fats and vitamins in feed. It is associated with immune function and the protection of cell membranes against oxidation, in line with applicable regulations. It is also used in cosmetic creams, lotions and serums, and in pharmaceutical and food formulations as an antioxidant and source of vitamin E.

It is used as a source of cobalt (micronutrient) in mineral premixes for animal nutrition, and as an input in electroplating baths, ceramic pigments and driers for paints and varnishes. Its handling requires precautions owing to the toxicological characteristics of cobalt salts, so the applicable regulations are verified for each use.
