Sodium salt of propylparaben, water-soluble, used as an antimicrobial preservative in aqueous formulations. It allows the preservative to be incorporated directly into the aqueous phase and is often combined with methylparaben. It is used in cosmetics, pharmaceuticals and veterinary products, within the limits of applicable regulations.
