Hydrophilic nonionic emulsifier derived from sorbitol, stearic acid and ethylene oxide. It is used to stabilize oil-in-water emulsions in thick cosmetic creams and lotions, and as an emulsifying additive in foods in accordance with applicable regulations. It also acts as a solubilizer and dispersant in pharmaceutical, veterinary and household care formulations.
