N-Methyl-2-Pyrrolidone

Polar aprotic solvent miscible with water and with most organic solvents, with high dissolving power for resins and polymers. It is used in chemical extraction, paint and coating removers, industrial cleaners and as a cosolvent in technical formulations. Owing to its toxicity and the regulatory restrictions that affect it, its use must be carefully evaluated against alternatives and current regulations.
