Classic fatty acid of the cosmetic industry, used to give body and opacity to emulsions and as a saponifiable base in shaving creams and creamy soaps. Its partial neutralization produces stable emulsified systems. In industry it is also used as a hardener in candles and soaps and as an auxiliary in plastics, and as an excipient in other sectors in accordance with applicable regulations.
